Solo Service Group are recruiting cleaning operatives to join our team at Waterstones Book Store, 22 Queen street, Oxford, OX1 1EP. We are ideally looking for two candidates to share the cleaning duties at the Waterstones bookshop in Oxfordshire. The role will operate on a 4 days on / 3 days off rota, alternating weekly between the two cleaners. This means availability for two weekends per month will be required. This is an immediate start position.
To begin work and receive payment, the following documents will be required:
- Valid ID (passport, driving licence, or birth certificate)
- Proof of National Insurance number
- Proof of address dated within the last 3 months (e.g., bank statement or utility bill)
Hours: Monday - Saturday, 08:30 - 11:30; Sunday, 09:00 - 12:00. Hours per day: 3. Weekly hours: 21. Monday - Friday £12.21 per hr; Saturday £12.50 per hr; Sunday £15.00 per hr.
Responsibilities
- Your main aim will be to carry out a range of cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying bins, cleaning washrooms and kitchen areas and various spaces as required.
- Ensure that all areas are cleaned to the highest standards at all times.
- Maintain Health and Safety standards at all times.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored correctly.
- Deal with any customer requests promptly and courteously; good attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative, while being part of a team.
- Be reliable and responsible with a flexible approach to work.
- Cleaning experience is preferred but full training will be provided if necessary.
- Commitment to support others and maintain a positive attitude toward cleaning tasks.
