Key Responsibilities

• Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting;
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits and reviews.
• Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing financial forecasting;
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis;
  • Develop financial models and operational insights to support strategic planning;
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to senior leadership.
• Internal Controls & Process Improvement
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies;
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and reporting efficiency;
  • Lead implementation and optimization of accounting or ERP systems;
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and financial obligations.
• Cash Flow & Risk Management
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships;
  • Oversee credit management and collections;
  • Support insurance, risk management, and government reporting requirements.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide guidance to administration manager and team;
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement;
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, production, and leadership to support business needs.

Qualifications

• CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) required;
• 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized organization;
• Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or inventory-based businesses is an asset;
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting;
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills;
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Working conditions consisting primarily of an office environment, although limited time spent in production facility or lab may be required.
