About the company

Solis has partnered with a UK-founded B2B SaaS business that has built a strong product and customer base in its home market and is now entering a new phase of international growth, with expansion underway in Europe and future plans for the US. The company’s primary focus is serving B2B and enterprise clients through its SaaS platform, alongside a complementary consumer-facing product that adds depth and complexity to the product environment. It operates as a remote-first organisation, with distributed teams across multiple territories, and places a strong emphasis on trust, ownership, and delivery. With continued investment and growth, the company is now strengthening its product leadership to support scale.

About the Head of Product role

The Head of Product role has been created as the business enters its next phase of growth and will have real scope to shape how product works as the company scales. You will partner closely with the CTO and senior leadership to define product direction, build product capability, and ensure the organisation can scale its platform and teams successfully. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will lead product strategy while remaining close to execution, working directly with engineering teams on discovery, prioritisation, and delivery. From day one, you will line manage an existing Product Owner and play a key role in mentoring, developing, and growing the product function over time. This role suits someone who has already operated at Head of Product or Lead Product level in a smaller or scaling SaaS business and enjoys combining leadership with practical delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the product roadmap in line with company goals and outcomes
  • Partner with the CTO and leadership team on medium- and long-term product direction
  • Work hands-on with engineering teams on discovery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery
  • Personally write user stories and shape specifications where needed
  • Line manage and mentor an existing Product Owner, supporting their development in product craft
  • Use team-level OKRs to help shape product priorities, guide trade-offs, and support outcome-based decision making across product and engineering teams
  • Build and improve product processes, rituals, and documentation as the team scales
  • Balance delivery, technical trade-offs, and longer-term platform investment
  • Collaborate with commercial and customer-facing teams to ensure products support revenue and customer outcomes
  • Hire and grow the product team as additional squads are introduced

To be successful in your application for the Head of Product role

This role requires someone who has already operated at senior product level and is comfortable leading, mentoring, and setting direction while still staying close to delivery. You should bring confidence from having done this before, ideally in a small or scaling SaaS business, and enjoy combining strategic thinking with practical execution. The role will suit someone who has worked fully remote in organisations with teams distributed across markets, and who is comfortable balancing autonomy, collaboration, and accountability.

Required skills and experience

  • Experience operating at Head of Product or Lead Product level within a B2B SaaS or product-led business
  • Several years’ experience owning product end to end, from discovery through to delivery and iteration
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring Product Managers or Product Owners
  • Hands-on product capability, including writing user stories, shaping specifications, and working directly with engineering teams
  • Confidence working with engineers on technical concepts such as APIs, data flows, system design trade-offs, and platform priorities
  • Strong judgement in prioritisation, sequencing work, and balancing short-term delivery with longer-term product and platform needs
  • Experience working fully remote with distributed teams across territories
  • Clear examples of product change you have led, including what you introduced, improved, or intentionally chose not to build
  • Experience working in a data-led B2B SaaS environment, such as enterprise platforms focused on analytics, intelligence, or decision-making, ideally within sectors like Big Data, RegTech, FinTech, PropTech, or adjacent verticals

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with using OKRs as part of a product decision-making environment
  • Experience working in organisations where OKRs are used at a team level to align around outcomes and trade-offs
  • Exposure to data-led or insight-driven B2B products
  • Experience supporting product teams through periods of scale or international expansion

What’s in it for you?

  • A senior product leadership role with genuine scope to shape how product works
  • Fully remote position within a growing B2B SaaS business
  • The opportunity to build and scale a product function alongside experienced technical leadership
  • High levels of autonomy and ownership
  • Private healthcare and performance-related bonus
  • Long-term progression as the business continues to grow internationally
  • Chance to build and develop a team
