We require a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our established team of Wellbeing and Safeguarding Advisers. Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective, high-quality safeguarding and wellbeing support in accordance with the college’s safeguarding responsibilities.
- Work alongside curriculum staff and the wider Progress Team to deliver strategies that meet individual student needs, removing learning barriers.
- Pro‑actively promote the safety and wellbeing of students throughout the college.
- Manage a specific caseload of students, dealing with safeguarding and wellbeing issues on a daily basis.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Proven track record of safeguarding or wellbeing support, ideally in an educational setting.
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection mechanisms.
- Understanding of the range of issues facing young people (social, emotional, behavioural) and ability to motivate diverse student needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, calmness and problem‑solving approach.
- Resilience and outstanding interpersonal skills to build good working relationships, use negotiation and diplomacy with staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
- Relevant Level 3 qualification in safeguarding or wellbeing (or equivalent).
- Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (or equivalent).

Tameside College is located in Ashton‑Under‑Lyne, Greater Manchester, offering a wide range of courses including A‑level and advanced level vocational programmes, apprenticeships and adult courses up to degree level.
