About the Role
The Inside Sales & Expediting Assistant will support the day-to-day sales and operational activities of the UK business, helping to ensure customer enquiries and orders are processed efficiently and that orders move smoothly from quotation through to delivery. The role combines inside sales and customer service responsibilities with order expediting and practical support for shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, reliable, proactive, and comfortable managing both administrative and practical tasks within a small and collaborative team environment. As part of a nimble UK operation, the role is well suited to someone who is self-motivated and comfortable working independently while taking ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.

Working Pattern: Full-time, Office/Warehouse based
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide day-to-day customer support via phone and email
- Prepare quotations and process customer sales orders accurately and efficiently
- Follow customer orders through the sales and fulfilment process, helping to ensure orders are progressed and delivered on time
- Expedite outstanding orders and liaise with customers and the Solinst group regarding order status, availability, and expected delivery dates
- Maintain accurate order records and provide customers with updates on order progress and shipment status
- Support the sales team with quotations, order administration, customer follow-up, and general inside sales activities
- Coordinate customer order fulfilment, including picking, packing, dispatch, and shipment tracking
- Prepare shipping documentation for domestic and international shipments
- Work with shipping/courier systems to arrange deliveries and collections
- Assist with receiving incoming deliveries, checking goods received, and putting stock away
- Support stock organisation, inventory checks, and the maintenance of accurate stock records
- Assist with product returns, repairs, and warranty processes
- Ensure CRM/ERP, order entry, and other administrative records are maintained accurately
- Maintain effective communication with the Solinst group to support order coordination, inventory management, and operational alignment
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe office and warehouse environment
- Represent Solinst professionally in all customer interactions
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, sales administration, order processing, logistics, or a similar role beneficial
- Experience dealing with customer enquiries and processing quotations or sales orders advantageous
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer orders and priorities
- Experience following up orders, coordinating deliveries, or expediting orders beneficial
- Familiarity with shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or stock control advantageous
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience using Microsoft 365; CRM, ERP, and shipping systems beneficial
- Comfortable supporting practical activities involving the handling of equipment and stock
