Main Purpose of the role:
- To ensure accurate, timely, and efficient testing of products and raw materials to agreed standards
- Manage non-conforming products and facilitate administration of documentation
- Ensure equipment is standardised and maintained
- Ensure LIMS & stock control system is managed and consistently up to date
- Ensure documentation is inspection ready
- Ensure hygiene and cleanliness of equipment and working areas are to the required standards
- Must also be able to reliably commute to place of work and/or other sites if required to do so within the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Testing: Daily testing of product samples and raw materials using defined methodology and according to schedule.
- Ensure results are recorded and specifications updated for any new products in a timely manner
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and verified/calibrated according to schedule
- Data entry of results onto the LIMS and stock control systems.
- Confirm pass or fail status of the product and escalate as required and release product or determine and advise corrective action as appropriate.
Administration:
- Daily maintenance of all laboratory documentation to ensure audit ready.
- Create and complete records of non-conforming product and support internal investigation
- Generate Certificates of Analysis/Conformities and communication as required to the customers.
- Maintaining foreign body library
General:
- Maintain clean and tidy equipment and working areas for availability at all times.
- Maintain storage and rotation of shelf life samples
- Support customer complaints, internal NCN investigation and shelf life extension assessments
- Actively participate in relevant site meetings
- Maintain acceptable levels of laboratory consumables and initiate orders as required
- Carry out any additional management request within the reasonable scope of the role
- Engage proactively in support of other sites as reasonably required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent
- Good level of English both written and spoken
- Experience in a Laboratory / QA role or similar
- Must be able to reliably commute to place of work and/or other sites if required to do so within the role
- Good level of numeracy skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Demonstrate a responsible and proactive attitude
- Be able to self motivate
