We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Quality Team at Symmetry Park.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about food safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements across multiple sites.
Working collaboratively with departments across the business, you will help drive quality performance, promote a strong food safety culture, and support the delivery of key quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the product testing schedule is completed as required, recording and analysing results to identify trends and escalated out-of-specification findings.
- Support investigations into product, environmental, allergen, and water testing non-conformances.
- Carry out environmental monitoring activities, including swabbing programmes and trend analysis.
- Assist with external audits by preparing documentation, coordinating traceability exercises, and presenting findings where required.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with food safety legislation, industry standards, company policies, and procedures.
- Identify quality and food safety issues and work with relevant departments to implement effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
- Build strong working relationships across Operations and other departments to address quality concerns and drive continuous improvement.
- Deliver training and guidance on food safety and quality procedures when required.
- Actively contribute to site meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and business-wide quality projects.
- Support the ongoing development of food safety culture and quality excellence across all sites.
- Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have
- Previous experience in a Quality, Food Safety, Technical, or Compliance role within the food manufacturing industry.
- A good understanding of food safety principles, quality management systems, and industry standards.
- Experience conducting audits and supporting external customer or certification audits.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and investigate quality issues.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to work effectively across departments.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
- Experience in environmental monitoring, allergen management, and CAPA processes would be advantageous.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance.
