We have a fabulous opportunity for a child-focused, passionate and experienced Registered Manager to join our new children's residential service in Solihull. Whether you are currently a Deputy Manager or Team Leader in a Children's Home, or an experienced Registered Manager looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you.

Working closely with the Residential Operations Manager / Responsible Individual, this highly rewarding role involves developing and managing one of our newly refurbished three-bed children's homes, to build a service that centres around our children and young people. We are looking for a Registered Manager who truly listens and cares about what our children have to say. Through strong leadership, our children will receive the highest quality care. You will inspire a committed staff team to create a home that is safe, comfortable, and feels like home where staff go above and beyond to make children feel important.

Your responsibilities include shaping and delivering the Home's Statement of Purpose, Children's Guide, and Location Risk Assessment, while managing the team to meet required standards. You will be accountable for delivering high-quality care that meets the needs of children and young people, advocating for their well-being, and providing motivational leadership. You will ensure the Home operates in line with company policies, procedures, and the expectations of the Regulatory Body. This is a pivotal role in the lives of the children and young people we care for, requiring genuine dedication and long-term commitment. The Responsible Individual will work in close partnership with you to support the delivery of exceptional care. You will also take full responsibility for ensuring the Home is staffed appropriately to meet the individual needs of every child and young person.

Responsibilities

  • OFSTED Registration as a Registered Children's Home Manager, OR significant experience working in a residential children's care home to secure OFSTED Registration as a Residential Care Manager within 6 months of appointment
  • Lead and manage a team within a residential Children's home setting
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships and collaborate with a range of agencies
  • Ensure compliance with The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and safeguarding practices
  • Demonstrate tenacity and resilience to drive continuous improvement and deliver exceptional care
  • Remain aligned with company policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations
  • Support the delivery of the Home's Statement of Purpose and related documents

Qualifications and requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Young People's services (or equivalent) OR commitment to successfully complete within 3 years of appointment
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
  • Thorough knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices and procedures
  • The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of agencies

Additional requirements

  • This is an essential car user post; the role requires a suitable vehicle to perform the duties. Applicants must be able to drive, have a driving licence and be a car owner. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled applicants where required.
  • Subject to Schedule 2 checks, including a DBS check and a pre-employment medical questionnaire. This post is covered by the Fluency Duty under the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
