Operations Manager – Children’s Social Care Services Band H1 - £64,599 up to £71,807 per annum. This post carries 1 atypical payment for the requirement to work an out of hours duty rota. Permanent Full-Time, Monday to Friday with Flexible Working.

We have recently reviewed our leadership structures to reflect the Families First Partnership Reform Programme and have two Operations Manager roles available to support the delivery of our services to Children. We are currently recruiting for two Operations Manager positions with Children’s Social Care: Operations Manager - Fostering.

About the Roles

  • As Operations Manager you will play an active role as part of the service team working in partnership with our Commissioning services to innovate our service delivery capabilities.
  • You will support the Head of Service and other senior leaders in achieving our organisational vision and outcomes.
  • You will directly line manage the Team Managers and teams to meet the outcomes of the service delivery plan.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with our key stakeholders including statutory partners, service providers, voluntary sector, and customers.
  • You will ensure the Team Managers provide a high quality and effective social work service to meet the needs of children, young people and their families, safeguarding children in a timely manner within statutory guidelines.
  • You will represent the service within multi-agency forums and contribute to the development of policy and practice in Children’s services across the borough.
  • You will ensure the social work service is fully integrated within the wider Children’s services in order to promote positive outcomes for children and their families, providing effective leadership within the service.

These roles will be based in our modern offices at Chelmunds Place and the Bluebell Centre, Chelmsley Wood.

About You

  • You will be a Professional Social Worker, holding a Qualification, Social Work England registration and significant post qualifying experience, and you will be looking for a new challenge in a caring forward-thinking organisation.
  • As Operations Manager vacancies, you will also need a management qualification or equivalent level of management experience.
  • You will have experience of operational management, delivery of performance objectives and a good understanding of performance and standards, the service performance framework and professional practice and quality.
  • You will have experience of people management, including workforce planning and workforce development, and partnership working.
  • Experience of budget management demonstrating you meet budget, savings, and income targets.
  • You will hold a driving licence and own your own vehicle, as this is an essential car user post due to the demands of the job.
