Meriden CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a pro‑active, motivated and enthusiastic administrator to join our friendly office team. We are a happy, thriving primary school with a hardworking and committed staff and this is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly team whose work is greatly valued.
This is a diverse and exciting role, which involves both working as part of a team and individually, providing administrative support, to ensure the smooth running of the school. You will need to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be proficient in the use of IT systems, e.g. word processing and Excel. You will need to be able to use your initiative and prioritise work effectively to meet strict deadlines, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to communicate sensitively and tactfully with a range of stakeholders, and will need to have the ability to work calmly under pressure.
The successful candidate will offer the following skills and attributes:
- A commitment to promote and safeguard the welfare of children.
- A commitment to confidentiality at all times.
- Undertake reception duties - answering the telephone, dealing with face‑to‑face and written enquiries and signing in visitors, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.
- An ability to carry out administrative duties, in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring deadlines are met within the school office, in order to maintain the efficient running of the school.
- Provide administration support as directed by the Office Manager and the Headteacher.
- Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with a range of colleagues, pupils, parents and visitors to the school.
- A high level of organisational, planning and prioritising skills, with attention to detail.
- A high level of skill in all aspects of IT.
- The ability to be flexible and accommodating to the needs of the school.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines when required.
- A cheerful, good‑humoured approach to work and colleagues.
