Location: Primarily Blossomfield Campus

Salary: Up to £19,771.62 per annum (depending on teaching qualification status)

Contractual hours: 15

Basis: Salaried Part Time

We are currently seeking an experienced qualified Beauty Therapy Lecturer who would love to share their knowledge and expertise with students in this exciting and rapidly expanding curriculum area. The successful candidate must hold a recognised assessor qualification and have the appropriate qualifications, occupational competence and industry experience to teach and assess the VTCT Skills Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy.

The candidate must be confident and competent in delivering the following areas:

  • Management of health, safety and security in the salon
  • Chemistry of hair and beauty products
  • Physiology of ageing
  • Quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector
  • Dermatology and microbiology
  • Applying microdermabrasion
  • Laser and light treatments for hair removal
  • Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation

Applicants should have current knowledge of advanced beauty therapy practice, including relevant health and safety requirements, industry standards and safe working practices. They must also be willing to undertake relevant continuing professional development each year to maintain and update their occupational competence.

Experience of teaching and assessing Level 4 beauty therapy qualifications within a further education or training environment would be highly desirable. Applicants must hold appropriate specialist qualifications and demonstrate current occupational competence in order to deliver laser and light treatment units.
