The Role

We’re looking for a strong Software Engineer with Data Engineering experience. Someone proficient in building robust, scalable, maintainable, and thoroughly monitored data pipelines on cloud environments.

Responsibilities

1. Design and develop microservices for the data team – Java and Python services running on K8S.
2. Address data duplication, velocity, schema adherence (and schema versioning), high availability, data governance, and related challenges.
3. Develop, design, and maintain end-to-end ETL workflows, including data ingestion and transformation from various sources.
4. Enrich financial data through third-party data integrations.
5. Maintain our data pipeline primarily written in Java and running on K8S within a micro-service architecture.
6. Coordinate with other teams to ensure seamless data integration and insights creation.
7. Continuously improve data storage, serving, and query performance to optimize data consumption for diverse clients.

Required Skills

1. BSc. in Computer Sciences from a top university or equivalent.
2. At least 2+ years of experience with Java as a software engineer.
3. Over 5 years in data engineering and pipeline development in high-volume production environments.
4. Experience with monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Datadog.
5. Experience in fintech or trading industries.
6. Strong object-oriented development skills and software engineering fundamentals.
7. Hands-on experience with cloud data-engineering technologies like Apache Airflow, K8S, Clickhouse, Snowflake, Redis, caching technologies, and Kafka.
8. Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and query optimization.
9. Experience designing infrastructure to meet high availability SLAs.
10. Experience managing production environments and monitoring systems.
11. Curiosity, proactive problem-solving, independent work ethic, and strong communication skills.
