This is not a steady-state role. This is a chance to get in early, build something, and leave a real mark on a business that is moving fast. Solidcor is a specialist fire door manufacturer based in Chesterfield, producing high-quality, fully compliant doorsets for social housing, commercial, and public sector clients across the UK. We are part of Harmony Fire Group, one of the most ambitious businesses in the UK fire safety sector, and right now Solidcor is at an exciting inflection point. Demand is accelerating. Our order book is growing. And in the second half of 2025, we are opening a brand new, purpose-built facility that will take our production capacity to a completely different level. We need the right Production Manager in place to help us get there.

The opportunity

You will take full ownership of our manufacturing floor, overseeing workflow across CNC machining, manufacture, painting, and assembly. You will lead production teams, run tier meetings, champion the SIC drumbeat, and drive a culture of structured, continuous improvement across the operation. You will work closely with sales, procurement, warehouse, and logistics to keep everything moving, and you will own the metrics that tell us how we are really performing: OTIF, OEE, RFT, plan adherence, material usage, and cost control. But this role is bigger than the day-to-day. As we move into our new facility, you will have the opportunity to help design how our production operation looks and runs at scale. The processes you put in place, the team you help build, and the standards you set will define what Solidcor becomes over the next few years. For the right person, that is an incredibly rare thing to be part of.

What we are looking for

  • A proven Production Manager or senior Supervisor from a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a genuine track record of driving improvement
  • Someone who can point to tangible results: OTIF gains, OEE uplift, scrap reduction, throughput improvements
  • A confident leader who can run a production floor, develop people, and hold the line on quality and safety without compromising pace
  • Knowledge of CNC machinery and automated production lines
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a strong advantage
  • Door or joinery manufacturing experience is a bonus, but we are more interested in your mindset and your results than your exact sector background
  • Resilient, proactive, and someone who genuinely thrives when the challenge gets bigger

Why now, why Solidcor

The timing of this hire matters. We are not looking for someone to maintain what we have. We are looking for someone who wants to help build what comes next. The new facility represents a step change for Solidcor, and the Production Manager we bring in now will have a level of influence and visibility that simply would not exist in a larger, more established operation. We are a tight-knit, driven team that takes quality seriously and rewards people who perform. The backing of Harmony Fire Group means we have the resource and ambition to grow properly, and we are committed to developing the people who grow with us. If you are ready for a role with real weight to it, we would love to hear from you. Apply below or get in touch directly.
