We are seeking a talented Tooling Design Engineer to lead the creation of precision mould tools. While the primary focus is on high -level SolidWorks design and technical data management using ERP (JD Edwards) and PDM (Adept), experience in CAM programming is highly advantageous to support the CNC machine shop.<\/span>

Responsibilities, but are not limited to<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>
  • Create complex 3D tool and component designs, specifically focusing on cavity blocks, cores, inserts, plates, guide systems, and ejector arrangements<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Develop comprehensive 2D manufacturing drawings, including precise tolerances, GD&T, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assembly documentation<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Perform critical design checks, including parting line evaluation, shrinkage considerations, and manufacturability assessments<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Optimise tools for performance, durability, and ease of maintenance while ensuring technical compliance<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Manage part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routing information within the JD Edwards ERP system<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Ensure all designs and revisions are controlled and traceable via the Adept PDM system<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Generate job cards and production orders to ensure alignment between design and manufacturing data<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Provide technical support to machinists and toolmakers to bridge the gap between design and physical production<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Lead root -cause analysis for tooling failures or dimensional issues<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Collaborate with quality teams to review CMM reports and facilitate dimensional sign -off<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Update designs based on feedback from mould trials and tool testing<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Support the generation and optimisation of CNC tool paths for turning and milling operations<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Evaluate new CAM strategies, cutting tools, and machining technologies<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>
    Experiences required<\/span><\/span><\/b>
    <\/span><\/span><\/div>
    • Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, HND equivalent, or time -served experience<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Proven experience in precision tool design, specifically compression or injection mould tools<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD packages like Inventor or Creo)<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Deep understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Familiarity with ERP (JD Edwards) and PDM (Adept) workflows is highly desirable<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Experience with SolidCAM or similar offline programming software is advantageous<\/span><\/span><\/span>
