We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is proficient in SolidWorks to lead the development of specialised machinery from initial concept through to final production. Your role will balance high-level mechanical design with practical technical documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of mechanical solutions, from concept through to detailed technical drawings
  • Create 3D models and 2D technical drawings of mechanical components and assemblies, focusing on sheet metal, fabrication, rotating machinery, drive systems, linear motion, automation, and guarding
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, customers, and suppliers to ensure designs meet both technical and business requirements
  • Perform design analysis to ensure optimal functionality, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency
  • Continuously evaluate and incorporate new technologies to improve product designs
  • Generate supporting documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), design risk assessments, and equipment manuals
Experiences required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in machinery design, preferably in special-purpose machinery or industrial equipment
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD is essential
  • Experience with AutoCAD (2D CAD) is beneficial
  • A basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic control systems as they relate to mechanical design
