Join a high-end, rapidly growing bespoke furniture, cabinetry, and architectural joinery manufacturer. Managing premium projects across both residential and commercial sectors, they operate from a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. By combining advanced HOMAG CNC machinery, beam saws, and edgebanders with cutting-edge CAD software and traditional craftsmanship, they deliver millimetre-perfect results for premium architects, interior designers, and developers across the UK.
They are currently investing heavily in their design, manufacturing, and project management departments. As a result, they’re looking for an ambitious, technically sharp Senior Joinery Designer proficient in SolidWorks (ideally with SWOOD experience) to join them during an exciting period of growth.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Producing detailed manufacturing drawings, workshop drawings, and CNC-ready data using SolidWorks and SWOOD
- Creating accurate 3D models and detailed production assemblies for bespoke furniture and joinery
- Generating precise cutting lists, machining information, and comprehensive production documentation
- Working closely with estimators, project managers, factory managers, and CNC operators to ensure seamless fabrication
- Interpreting architectural drawings and interior design packages, developing practical manufacturing solutions while preserving design intent
- Attending design review meetings, leading technical problem-solving, and supporting projects from initial concept through to installation
- Maintaining strict drawing standards and document control while driving continuous improvement within the design department
Experiences required:
- Minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience within the bespoke joinery, furniture manufacturing, or cabinet-making industry
- Professional, fluent experience using SolidWorks is essential. Familiarity with SWOOD is a massive advantage
- A strong, practical understanding of bespoke joinery construction, workshop production methods, and materials (MDF, MFC, veneered boards, plywood, laminates, solid timber, and hardware)
- A proven track record of creating manufacturing drawings so clear that joiners and CNC operators can build from them without constant clarification
- Full UK work authorisation and the ability to commute daily to their office
