We are looking for an experienced Lead Project Design Engineer who will take full ownership of custom vehicle design projects, leading shop -floor teams and collaborating directly with clients. If you are a SolidWorks expert who thrives on translating complex briefs into high -performance, real -world transport solutions, this role is for you.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to<\/b>
<\/div>
<\/div>
- Utilising SolidWorks to create highly accurate 3D models, assemblies, and detailed technical drawings for bespoke coach -built vehicle projects
<\/span><\/li> - Translating smaller, intricate assemblies into large, complex final vehicle assemblies
<\/span><\/li> - Breaking down complex individual drawings (often numbering in the hundreds) into clear, production -ready engineering packs for the workshop
<\/span><\/li> - Taking full lifecycle ownership of design projects from concept to completion, managing independent workloads, guiding shop floor teams, and ensuring client specifications are met under strict deadlines
<\/span><\/li> - Working directly with clients to map out needs, provide tailored design solutions, and refine vehicle specifications. Liaising fluidly with internal teams, clients, and suppliers
<\/span><\/li> - Working tightly alongside engineers, fabricators, and fellow designers to ensure seamless, high -quality project execution
<\/span><\/li> - Identifying and resolving intricate design challenges, ensuring absolute compliance with manufacturing processes and strict industry standards<\/span>
<\/li><\/ul>Experiences required<\/b>
<\/div>- Complete proficiency and deep technical knowledge of SolidWorks is essential for this role (this is a primary focus for the team)
<\/span><\/li> - Minimum of 5 years of solid design/engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment
<\/span><\/li> - A strong background working with metals, featuring a heavy bias toward Aluminium and Steel. (Experience with timber is a plus, but not essential)
<\/span><\/li> - Proven experience working with weldments and structural metal frameworks
<\/span><\/li> - Prior industry experience in automotive, coachbuilding, or related manufacturing sectors is highly desirable (though similar industry experience is also welcomed)<\/span>
