Location – Hybrid based in West Midlands

We’re looking for a CAD Engineer who’s proficient using AutoCAD to create and manage essential CAD layouts, architectural plans, and structural FEA simulations. You will ensure venue safety, support large-scale live experiences, and maintain critical site records.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain drawings for exhibitions, events, concerts, and architectural/engineering plans
- Create and manage exhibition/event layouts complying with local authority and fire regulations
- Create and maintain NEC Venue record drawings of the site, its architecture, and services, carrying out site surveys where necessary
- Carry out structural analysis of concert roof loading using appropriate software
- Perform exhibition take-up measures and report to the relevant Account Manager
- Manage and utilise the Meridian Document Management database to store all record drawings and provide support to other Meridian users
Experiences required:
- Qualified to minimum ONC level in an engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficient in using AutoCAD to produce GAs (General Arrangement) and floor layout drawings for spatial planning
- Able to interpret engineering calculations or FEA simulations for weight and load stresses to assist with appropriate rigging
- Experience in conducting site surveys using hand measuring tools or lasers
