Steatite, part of the Solid State Group, is looking for a hands-on Production Technician to join our Manufacturing team in Ashchurch in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. You will assemble, configure and test specialist electrical and computer-based products, combining practical assembly skills with technical knowledge and a strong eye for detail. What you will be doing:
- Assembling, configuring and testing electrical and computer-based products
- Carrying out mechanical assembly from engineering drawings and specifications
- Maintaining accurate production, test and quality records
- Identifying and reporting technical or quality issues
- Ensuring products meet required customer and engineering standards
- Following manufacturing procedures and technical documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement across Production
- Working across different production areas when required
What we are looking for:
You will be practical, technically minded and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. You will need:
- A good understanding of computer hardware components
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Confidence carrying out practical assembly work
- Good communication and team-working skills
Experience of cable assembly, wiring harnesses, looms, soldering, mechanical assembly or IPC-610/IPC-620 standards would be particularly advantageous.
