SSL is actively looking for a Support Engineer & Technical Trainer to join our UK based team. Supporting clients in broadcast, live, and large-format studio sectors, the position is based at SSL's headquarters in Oxfordshire and includes worldwide travel, occasionally at short notice. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in professional audio to develop their abilities and achieve great things in a fast-paced, industry-leading organisation. The ideal candidate will be confident, flexible, and motivated. They take ownership of time-critical issues and see them through to resolution. They enjoy travel, have good communication skills, and excel at problem-solving & critical thinking. They love coming up with solutions, growing their abilities and sharing knowledge and experience with others.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering on site commissioning, training, support and maintenance.
- Providing remote support by telephone, email and video conferencing.
- Out of hours emergency telephone support.
- Authoring technical documentation.
- Software testing and validation.
- Developing internal and external training material.
- Assisting other areas of the business as required including pre-sales, demo, QA, engineering and process improvement.
Key Qualifications and Capabilities
- Experience in a technical role in Broadcast, Live or Recording industries.
- Understanding of workflows, systems, and user expectation in their specialist area.
- Experience in troubleshooting at system level, ideally involving multiple vendors’ equipment.
- Proven client-facing skills.
- Confidence and pragmatism under pressure.
- Attention to detail with an ability to quickly assimilate and recall information.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Confident working alone and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience in a front-line technical support role, including providing remote support.
- Proficient in delivering training one on one and to groups.
- Understanding of networking & AoIP technologies.
- Familiarity with analogue and digital electronics.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.
- Technical authoring experience.
- DANTE Level 2 or 3 certified.
