Looking for a finance role where you can influence the business, rather than simply report the numbers?

Active Silicon is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to take a key role across two specialist technology and manufacturing businesses - Active Silicon in Langley and Solsta Manufacturing in Weymouth.

This is a broad, visible role combining financial leadership, manufacturing finance, commercial insight and business partnering.

You'll work closely with operational leaders, sit as a member of the Active Silicon leadership team and manage and develop a small finance team of two.

  • What you will be doing
  • You will take ownership of key financial processes across both businesses, including:
  • Acting as a trusted finance partner to operational and leadership teams.
  • Leading month-end close, financial reporting and analysis.
  • Delivering financial results and KPIs to Group.
  • Providing commercial insight to support bids, pricing and business decisions.
  • Leading manufacturing and R&D cost accounting, including standard costing, overhead absorption and production variance analysis.
  • Overseeing inventory, WIP and provision calculations.
  • Leading budgeting and forecasting by department and project.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and compliance.
  • Managing and developing two direct reports.
  • Supporting finance systems, governance and wider Group improvement initiatives.
  • What we are looking for

You will be a qualified accountant - CIMA, ACCA or equivalent with strong experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
  • Experience of inventory control.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Advanced Excel capability.
  • Confidence working with and influencing non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a multi-currency environment.
  • Multi-site experience would be advantageous.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a traditional finance role.

You’ll become a key commercial partner across two innovative, technology-led manufacturing businesses, with real visibility and influence.

You will have the opportunity to

  • Make an impact - influence commercial and operational decisions.
  • Get close to the business - work alongside the teams designing and manufacturing specialist technology.
  • Broaden your experience - work across Active Silicon and Solsta Manufacturing within the wider Solid-State Group.
  • Shape and improve - contribute to systems, controls and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop - manage a small finance team and play an active role within the leadership team.
  • Grow your career - gain exposure across an international group of specialist technology businesses.

If you are looking for a senior finance opportunity where your insight, ideas and commercial judgement can genuinely influence how a business performs and grows, this could be the role for you.
