The Role: We are looking for an FPGA Engineer to join Active Silicon in Langley, supporting the development of advanced imaging technology used across a range of specialist applications and industries. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex FPGA-related projects, working from initial specification through to implementation, validation and ongoing support. You will work within a collaborative engineering environment, contributing to the design and development of world-class imaging products and customer-focused technical solutions. This is a full-time role with hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and implement FPGA solutions for advanced imaging products
- Take ownership of FPGA-related projects from concept through to support and maintenance
- Produce low-level technical specifications and design documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and customers
- Support simulation, validation and testing activities
- Work with high-speed interfaces and advanced FPGA technologies
- Ensure product quality through effective problem solving and technical communication
- Contribute to continuous improvement and ongoing product development initiatives
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline desirable
- Previous commercial FPGA and hardware design experience
- Proficiency in VHDL/SystemVerilog FPGA design
- Experience working with AMD (Xilinx), Lattice or Intel (Altera) FPGA products
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces and simulation methodologies
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to support technically complex projects within a fast-paced engineering environment
