We are excited to be supporting a leading provider of innovative retail display and point-of-sale solutions, dedicated to helping brands connect with customers through impactful, high-quality design. With decades of experience in the industry, they specialise in turning creative concepts into expertly engineered, manufacturable products that perform in real-world retail environments.
Due to continuous growth and high demand for their services, they are now seeking an experienced Technical Designer to create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. The role involves close collaboration with design, production, and supplier teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective display solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Creating accurate and detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks, based on design briefs, concepts, or client requirements
- Producing fully detailed technical drawings for manufacture, including BOMs (bills of materials), part specifications, and fabrication instructions
- Collaborating with design and production teams to ensure feasibility, functionality, and cost-effectiveness of designs
- Participating in design reviews and providing engineering input to improve functionality, assembly, and manufacturability
- Ensuring all technical documentation complies with industry standards, company policies, and health & safety regulations
- Modifying and revising existing designs based on feedback, technical limitations, or material changes
- Maintaining version control and accurate records of all design files using PDM systems or internal project management tools
- Liaising with suppliers and fabricators to ensure component compatibility and resolve technical queries
Experiences required:
- Proficient in creating 3D models using SolidWorks
- Competent in producing full technical drawing packs for manufacture (DFM)
- Experience designing display stands for retail or hospitality environments, including POS, POP, end-aisle units, and branded displays
- Ability to conduct site surveys using hand measuring tools or laser devices
- Knowledge of designing with steel, sheet metal, and joinery products
- Confident in meeting with clients and suppliers
