Our client is a long-established Engineering Design Consultancy, based in Herefordshire with strong skills in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Product Design and Analysis. Due to high workloads they are looking for an experienced SolidWorks Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team in an initial 2 month contract term.

The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded mechanical designer with experience in design processes such as aluminium die casting and plastic injection moulding. The ideal candidate will be able to provide their own SolidWorks licence and workstation if working remotely. The client can provide this but you'd then need to be onsite.

Skills and experience:

  • Likely holds a relevant degree, though a strong track record and the right attitude are considered more valuable than formal qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the end-to-end design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems - from concept through to production.
  • Proficient in producing detailed 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, along with comprehensive engineering drawings and supporting technical documentation.
  • Ensures all designs adhere to applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams - including electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality assurance - to achieve fully integrated product solutions.
