Mechanical Design Engineer – SolidWorks Permanent Full–Time
Salary – Circa 36,000 DOE
Location – Office based in Dartford
We\’re excited to be supporting a trusted provider in the vehicle repair and refurbishment sector. With over two decades of experience delivering expert solutions for commercial vehicles, their services include chassis alignment, bodywork, paint systems, safety upgrades, and full compliance kits for regulatory standards. Known for their skilled team and rapid turnaround, they support both individual operators and large fleets with reliable, high–quality workmanship.
They are now actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who\’s proficient in SolidWorks and Composer to lead design projects, produce technical drawings, support prototyping, and contribute to documentation and installations.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
- Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to completion
- Produce 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks
- Create assembly and part drawings for manufacturing
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including one primary and several smaller ones
- Liaise with suppliers to order components and oversee prototyping and testing
- Prepare technical documentation, manuals, and installation guides
- Conduct occasional client site visits to support installation and sign–off
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and product development
Experiences required
- Competent in creating detailed 3D models in SolidWorks
- Proficient in developing illustrations/animations using SolidWorks Composer
- Background in Mechanical Engineering, either academic or time–served
- Able to create 2D detailed technical drawing packs for sheet metal and fabricated parts
