Solid Rock Recruiting is hiring on behalf of a well-established commercial drywall contractor seeking an In-House Drywall Estimator. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants more than just a desk role—someone who enjoys estimating, communicating with GCs, and being connected to the field. This position is ideal for an estimator who wants to grow with a company, build relationships, and eventually step into greater responsibility.
The Role
This is not a heads-down-only estimating position. The right person will handle commercial drywall takeoffs while also:
- Following up on bids
- Talking with general contractors
- Visiting jobsites
- Working closely with ownership and operations
You’ll be trusted to wear multiple hats and contribute to the company’s long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare commercial drywall estimates (80–90% commercial)
- Perform takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff & QuickBid (preferred)
- Estimate projects typically ranging from $250K–$650K
- Occasionally support larger projects (up to ~$2M)
- Follow up with GCs to sell and clarify bids
- Visit jobsites to improve estimating accuracy and productivity
- Build relationships with field teams and contractors
- Collaborate directly with ownership and operations
- No formal project management responsibilities

Ideal Candidate Profile
