We are supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing company, known for its cutting-edge subsea and marine solutions. The company supports industries such as offshore, renewable energy, and deep-sea exploration, and is committed to innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.
As part of its continued growth, the company is expanding its engineering team and is seeking both junior and senior EC&I Engineers. This role involves the design, development, and support of offshore and subsea electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Designing power distribution, control panels, motor control centres, and interactive operator stations (HMI, touchscreen, tactile controls)
- Developing distributed control systems (PLC, SCADA), network communication (RS485, MODBUS, Ethernet), and safety systems (BS EN 60204, BS EN 13849, IEC 60079)
- Selecting and integrating power components (motors, drives, transformers, switchgear), cabling, earthing, and earth fault detection
- Creating and maintaining AutoCAD/Inventor drawings, schematics, Bills of Materials, and engineering documentation
- Conducting machine risk assessments, FMEA/FMECA analysis, and ensuring compliance with British and international standards
- Supporting manufacturing, commissioning, factory/offshore testing, and troubleshooting of existing systems
- Liaising with multidisciplinary teams and providing technical support to sales and service teams
- Involvement in research, development, and offshore work as required
Experiences required:
- BEng (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (minimum 2nd class)
- Experience in machine control systems, automation, or industry sectors such as subsea, energy distribution, rail, or automation control (desirable)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Eplan or similar software (e.g., Microstation, OmniCAD, ProfiCAD) for LV schematic/circuit design
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor (advantageous)
- Practical engineering experience or hands-on background (desirable)
