Hourly – Circa £40 DOE
Contract Term – 2 months, potential for extension
Location – In office, Hampshire (no hybrid/remote)

We\’re excited to be supporting a leading aerospace interiors manufacturer specialising in designing and producing high-quality aircraft components, including seating, storage solutions, and safety equipment. With a strong reputation for innovation and precision engineering, the company serves major airlines and OEMs worldwide.

They are currently seeking skilled SolidWorks Design Engineers on a contract basis to support their dynamic engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aviation projects within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

Use SolidWorks 2025 to design and develop aircraft interior components, ensuring compatibility and efficiency in design execution
Carry out reverse engineering from 3D-scanned data, including surfacing, to create accurate independent models and manufacturing-ready drawings
Produce detailed technical drawings for manufacture, covering vacuum-formed plastics, machined parts, and sheet metal components (developed parts)
Design and refine latches, catches, hinges, and other aerospace fittings, ensuring compliance with material and manufacturing requirements
Develop and manage assemblies and BOMs, ensuring all components are correctly specified and optimised for production
Liaise with the supply chain, including suppliers and subcontractors, to source materials, confirm lead times, and optimise manufacturing costs
Assess scanned legacy parts for cost-effective redesign, improving manufacturability and eliminating design flaws
Work closely with the in-house engineering and manufacturing teams to support the reverse engineering and design process on-siteExperiences required

Competent SolidWorks designer
Proven ability to reverse engineer from scanned data, including surfacing
Ability to create detailed technical drawings for manufacture (DFM)
Experience designing vacuum-formed or moulded plastic parts
Experience designing for sheet metal and machined parts
Strong understanding of assemblies, BOMs, and general material knowledge
Must have own portable CAD workstation
Must have own SolidWorks v2025 licencePackage
40 Hours P/W | Monday to Friday | 8:30am to 5pm | 30 Minute Lunch
