The Assessment and Early Resolution Team (AERT) are looking for a Risk Assessment Officer (hybrid - Birmingham).

The role involves reviewing, analysing and prioritising incoming reports of misconduct about solicitors according to their risk. You will assess some of our lower risk reports using our Assessment Threshold Test and the Enforcement Strategy. Once a report has been created, our Investigation Officers in AERT review it first and decide whether the SRA should investigate further. You will also be responsible for responding to general enquiries from the public and internal stakeholders.

The work is high volume and fast paced, requiring a keen eye for detail and an analytical and curious mindset as every report is different. You will need to quickly identify sensitive, high risk and high-profile matters. Your communication skills will be important to obtain further clarification or evidence from the public, profession, other regulators and internal SRA sources regarding their reports.

  • Proven ability to produce high quality work under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an investigative mindset.

This is a Birmingham hybrid role, with the expectation of working 1-2 days a week in the Birmingham office and the remainder of the week from home.
