We are looking to recruit two experienced policy professionals to manage our policy development. The Policy Project Lead role sits in our Consumer Policy and Engagement Directorate. The role will support work in evolving and high-profile areas of work, with particular focus on high-volume consumer claims.
As the Policy Project Lead, you will be capable of managing major policy projects, able to learn and manage complex issues quickly, and thrive under tight deadlines. You will have a proficient understanding of the consumer interest and ensure the impact on consumers is front and centre in the development of policy solutions. With substantial senior-level policymaking experience, you will play a pivotal role in every aspect of the process from strategic design to implementation.
You'll manage the review, development and advocacy for key issues, providing strategic insights while delivering actionable policy solutions and driving them through to execution. You will also be responsible for establishing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, have a proven ability to manage and influence complex relationships, and will represent the SRA effectively with senior external stakeholders. As a member of the SRA's leadership team, you will promote the SRA's culture, values, policies and ways of working to internal colleagues.

What we are looking for:
- Policy specialist with significant senior level experience of policy making
- Proven experience of successfully managing major, complex policy change programmes and projects at pace
- Recent track record of successfully managing cross-organisational policy development, implementation and evaluation projects to agreed timetables
- Operational delivery skills with proven ability to deliver complex policy in short timeframes, gaining buy-in and support from relevant internal stakeholders
- Proven commitment to equality and diversity both as a colleague and regulator
- Highly inquisitive and intellectually agile, able to learn and manage complexity quickly
- Proven ability to use research and data to inform policy development
- Excellent writing skills and an ability to produce high quality board papers and other documents
- Highly developed interpersonal skills combined with experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and working with a range of internal and external stakeholders - including those at the most senior levels
- Experience in delivering consumer policy
- Dependable and clear communicator, both written and verbal
There is a full role profile attached to the bottom of this advert on our website. We are recruiting for this role in our Birmingham, Cardiff, and London offices. You will be based in the office nearest to your location, with the expectation of working two days a week in the office and the remainder of the week from home. You may be required to travel between our offices as well as to other sites for meetings with stakeholders or attendance at specific events.
