We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Processor to support end-to-end payroll operations across multiple North and South America countries. You will focus on accurate data entry, validation, and coordination with local vendors to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
Duties:- Ensures the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll(s) for both hourly and salaried employees in North America, and monthly payroll across entities in South America.
- Manage the Time and Absence system for approximately 2,800 employees.
- Process garnishments, employee tax and deduction elections.
- Interact with employees to resolve any questions or concerns related to payroll.
- Act as point person for employer response to internal and external audits related to employees, payroll and/or benefits.
- Establish controls and auditing practices to ensure regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations, ERISA, DOL, HIPAA, etc.
- Audit employee and employer tax data within HRIS system. Identify discrepancies and correct them prior to the quarter-end filings to ensure accuracy.
- Reconcile quarterly tax returns.
- Responsible for verifying employee W-2s & corrective W-2Cs.
- Work directly with vendors as needed for troubleshooting and evaluation of system updates.
- Maintain records and calculation of fringe benefits associated with the personal use of a company vehicle.
- Establish and maintain end-to-end reporting requests, creation, and processes to develop a best practice approach to report delivery.
- Follow established payroll processing guidelines, policies and procedures; periodically conduct training for Human Resources staff and Time and Absence Managers.
- Compile and analyze sensitive data to support various needs within the department or for external needs confidentially and securely.
- Prepare files for the Accounting Department: General Ledger, Headcount/Census reports, Accruals, etc.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and typically 3 – 6 years of direct Payroll experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS:Payroll Org certification (CPP or FPC) preferred.
Computer Skills:Must have proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Ability to perform basic Internet research is also preferred. Proficiency working in HRIS Systems (Workday and ADP preferred).
Mathematical Skills:Strong aptitude with mathematical skills and data analysis.
Requirements:- Exceptional attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws and regulations and other related areas of compliance.
- Solid understanding of accounting theories and practices, and previous general ledger and journal entry experience.
- Experience with Workday HRIS; ADP WFN; ADP Celergo.
- Capacity to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with outstanding customer service skills.
- Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to meet deadlines and sort through information to resolve complex and abstract issues, and reconcile complicated and detailed data.
- Solid understanding of IRS, State, Federal record retention regulations.
- Commitment to tasks, able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
