- LOCATION: Office based in Christchurch, Dorset – hybrid model
- TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required
This role reports directly to the Logistics Manager and is supported by the wider supply chain team, customer demand and commercial colleagues. Working closely with retail customers, the Operations Manager, Technical and Commercial Teams as well as the wider Supply Chain teams to ensure optimal focus on meeting and exceeding customer demands. The successful candidate will ensure the seamless movement of product shipments and orders from factory to retail customers with appropriate focus on supply chain efficiency, minimizing delays, and meeting customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Work with wider supply chain team and customers to proactively ensure goods ready for order are received to fulfil in line with expectations.
- Maintain and update system data as necessary to facilitate smooth processing of orders, reporting, documentation and invoicing.
- Striving towards best in class operation, working with internal and external partners as necessary to continually improve logistics processes with a right first‑time mentality.
- Review order plans to maximise truck utilisation, identify and execute consolidation opportunities.
- Prioritise daily tasks as required in line with business demands.
- Support development of logistics processes, process mapping and work instructions in line with company strategic objectives with regards to environment, quality, customer satisfaction, cost and efficiency.
- Develop partner relationships and establish your own key network of contacts with our partners.
- Promote an attitude of innovation, pace and intrinsic positivity.
- Actively seek to improve skills and logistics knowledge base, via training, site visits and knowledge sharing.
Planning & Coordination: Scheduling shipments, liaising with customers, warehouses and transport providers as necessary.
Problem‑Solving: Addressing delays, shortages, or other logistical challenges to keep operations running smoothly.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensuring adherence to regulations and managing necessary paperwork for shipping and receiving.
Communication & Support: Acting as a bridge between internal and external teams, including warehouses, suppliers, freight providers and customers.
About You:
- Dealings with external partners such as 3PL warehouses, freight‑forwarders, hauliers and FMCG retail customers.
- SAP or similar ERP skills across supply chain functions.
- Understand supply chain connectivity with all departments.
- Understand complete end‑to‑end flow of sales, from purchase to dispatch aligned to OTIF.
- Has worked in a fast‑paced FMCG operations environment.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Up to date with all legislation regarding road, air and sea transport operations.
