REPORT TO: Specification/PLM Manager
LOCATION: Hybrid, commuting distance to Christchurch, Dorset
Purpose of the role: This is a six-month fixed-term position to support the implementation and ongoing administration of our new PLM system. The role will report to the Specification/PIM Manager and work closely with the technical teams to manage and maintain product specification documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with product safety, quality, and legal standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Checking uploaded data for accuracy, enriching existing data in the system, uploading digital assets, and assisting with the creation, review, and maintenance of new product specifications within the PLM platform.
Main Responsibilities:
- Improving data completeness scores for existing products (approx. 860 product records) that have been uploaded to the PIM system by locating and inputting missing data.
- Populating existing product records with digital assets including artwork, test results, images, certificates etc. 860 product records which will each require multiple digital assets.
- Working with internal teams to capture and upload specification details for new products within the PIM. Approx. 30 per month.
- Assisting with running reports from the PIM system.
- Assisting with data entry for retail portal specifications.
Experience and knowledge:
- Previous experience of working with detailed technical product information, online product databases, product information management systems or technical document management systems highly desirable.
- Experience in a technical administrator role in Foods or Consumer Goods, as a specifications writer or a database assistant.
- Background in checking and validating data against agreed sources is desirable, particularly within environments where accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
- Familiarity with entering and maintaining information within online technical systems, databases, or customer portals would be advantageous.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; advanced Excel capability and working with CSV files would be beneficial.
- Product knowledge within Foods, Health & Beauty, or consumer goods would be useful, ideally gained within a manufacturing setting.
