We’re seeking a proactive Maintenance Manager to lead the strategic direction and daily operations of our site-wide maintenance function at our dynamic chemical manufacturing facility in Bradford. This senior management role spans Mechanical and EC&I disciplines, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective plant performance.
You’ll manage a team of leaders and technicians, guide contractor performance, and deliver a robust maintenance strategy aligned with regulatory, safety, and business goals.
What You’ll Do
Strategy & Leadership; Set and deliver a long-term maintenance strategy that supports reliability, compliance, and asset lifecycle planning. Lead a team of 30+ via Mechanical & EC&I Maintenance Leaders, driving performance, development, and accountability.
Compliance & Safety; Ensure full compliance with COMAH, statutory inspections, and permit-to-work processes. Champion a safety-first culture and lead HSE interventions and audits.
Maintenance & Shutdowns; Oversee planning and execution of routine maintenance and major shutdowns, minimising disruption and ensuring budget, time, and safety targets are met. Optimise preventative and predictive maintenance strategies site-wide.
Reliability & Performance; Collaborate with Reliability Managers to analyse failure data and implement improvement plans. Deliver on KPIs like availability, MTBF, and cost efficiency.
Budget & Contractor Oversight; Manage the maintenance budget, contractor relationships, and cost control. Ensure third-party services meet safety and performance standards.
Stakeholder Engagement; Represent maintenance in leadership meetings, audits, and cross-functional initiatives. Align plans with Operations, HSE, Engineering, and Projects teams.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering (or equivalent).
- Senior maintenance leadership experience in a regulated, high-hazard/COMAH environment.
- Deep understanding of safety legislation, asset care, and contractor management.
- Skilled in SAP (or similar), RCA, RCM, and lean maintenance tools.
- Strong communicator and strategic thinker with the ability to lead through change.
