Overview
Lead Operator Logistics at Solenis is a hands-on leadership role on shift, guiding operations within the Logistics department to ensure safety, efficiency, and high performance in a high-hazard chemical environment. The successful candidate will act as a senior operator on shift, mentor the team, and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead operations within the Logistics department, ensuring targets, safety standards, and quality requirements are consistently met.
- Act as Incident Controller, Main Controller, or Liaison Officer under the Site Emergency Plan.
- Issue permits (Hot Work/General), conduct hazard assessments, and enforce EHS policies.
- Mentor operators, support on-the-job training, and promote knowledge sharing.
- Respond to alarms and troubleshoot plant/process issues in real time.
- Coordinate product flow, stock allocation, vehicle movements, and warehouse interface.
- Maintain accurate shift logs, reports, and documentation for seamless handovers.
- Drive improvements in safety, process reliability, and housekeeping through initiatives like Lean and 5S.
About You
- Experience in chemical manufacturing or hazardous process environments.
- Strong understanding of EHS regulations, COMAH, DVSA/HGV standards, and chemical logistics.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support operational teams.
- Excellent situational awareness, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
- A team player with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
