We are looking for a proactive and experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our chemical manufacturing site. This is a highly visible, hands-on role providing expert occupational health support, ensuring employees remain safe, healthy, and fit for work in a regulated, high-hazard environment.
The Role
You will deliver safe, effective, and compliant occupational health services, supervising the OH Technician and overseeing health surveillance, screening programmes, and case management. Your advice will help management and employees manage fitness for work, rehabilitation, and sustained attendance, while supporting compliance with clinical and medico-legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fitness-for-work assessments, health surveillance, and risk-based occupational health checks
- Supervise the OH Technician, reviewing and interpreting health surveillance reports
- Provide evidence-based advice on workplace adaptations, restrictions, and vocational rehabilitation
- Deliver occupational health guidance, ergonomics support, and health promotion initiatives
- Lead health and wellbeing training, toolbox talks, and presentations for employees and management
- Analyse health data, prepare reports, and provide actionable insights to support continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant medical records
- Support clinical governance and ongoing professional development
About You
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN
- Specialist Occupational Health Training – SCPHN (Part 3 NMC register)
- Proven occupational health experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong case management and fitness-for-work assessment experience
- Confident leading and supervising teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment
