The role:
You will be joining the Soldo Financial Services business and will lead the design and implementation of the overall Fraud Management programme, manage the Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening activities together with the fraud prevention team. Soldo uses the Featurespace™ platform to monitor transactional activity. The TM aspect of the role will focus on business ownership of the Featurespace tool, designing, enhancing, maintaining the TM rules in place and working with colleagues in the review and approval of Transaction Monitoring alerts by analysing financial transactions and behavioural events to detect and prevent money laundering and fraudulent activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
This will involve managing the Transaction Monitoring rules, developing Transaction Monitoring procedures, and collaborating with cross‑functional and technology teams to design, tune and optimise the fraud prevention and detection programme. It also means to engage with the external financial services community to understand possible trends and how to protect customers and business from fraudulent activities.
The Sanctions Screening aspect of the role will hold responsibility for the review and assessment of potential screening matches and support drafting and maintaining of Sanctions Screening policies and procedures in compliance with applicable sanctions regulatory requirements. The role will also involve the development of screening controls.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrable and significant experience in designing and leading implementation of fraud prevention and detection programmes across a business.
- Extensive experience in designing and managing Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions screening alerts and systems, gained within the Financial Services sector.
- Knowledge and experience in working with several systems and technology programs that facilitate the day‑to‑day operations, including KYB/KYC case management tools, public company registers, sanctions and PEP screening tools, Transaction Monitoring systems (such as Featurespace, Grafana and Tableau).
- Previous hands‑on experience working with Featurespace / ARIC risk hub system is a distinct advantage.
- Proficient in designing prevention rules and understanding implications.
- Experience in a control/risk and AML function and understanding of fraud and AML typologies.
- A team player with the ability and experience in collaborating and influencing effectively colleagues in different parts of the business all contributing to building and delivering effective preventive fraud programmes.
- Experience in testing, validating, and tuning rules for performance.
- Proficiency in writing fraud prevention rules in Java/SQL a significant advantage.
- Ability to analyse transaction data and customer behaviour.
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU regulatory AML requirements including Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Money Laundering regulations and the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) AML guidelines.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good knowledge of statistical and arithmetic methodologies and calculations.
