Position Overview:
We are looking for a Materials Engineer to provide technical support in material application and qualification for inverter and energy storage systems (ESS). The role focuses on evaluating and validating materials from suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting manufacturing and quality teams in solving material-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Material Qualification & Validation
- Evaluate and approve materials used in inverters and ESS.
- Review supplier datasheets, perform technical assessments, and ensure compliance with standards.
2. Supplier & Manufacturing Support
- Work with suppliers to resolve material-related technical issues.
- Support incoming material inspection, quality control, and production process improvements.
- Assist sourcing team with technical evaluations during supplier selection.
3. Failure Analysis & Problem Solving
- Provide technical support for field/customer issues related to materials .
- Conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective/preventive actions.
4. Compliance & Certification Support
- Support product certification by preparing technical material documents and coordinating with testing agencies.
- Ensure materials meet environmental and safety regulations.
5. Cross-functional Technical Support
- Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers on design material selection.
- Provide training and technical guidance on material performance and reliability.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in materials engineering, quality, or technical support, preferably in power electronics, battery systems, or renewable energy industry.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with materials used in inverters and ESS.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with failure analysis methods and material inspection tools (microscopy, FTIR, hardness, thermal tests).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as molding, coating, bonding, and surface treatment.
