Team Lead .Net/C# to move into Management (Hands-On)
Location: Maidenhead (Hybrid – 3 days on-site per week)
We’re hiring a .Net Team Lead/Manager to lead agile software development teams through full product lifecycles—from initial concept to production release. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with product leaders, engineering stakeholders, and global teams to deliver innovative product enhancements and maintain high standards across our engineering practices.
Your Impact:
- Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and develop a global team of 4–10 software and QA engineers, offering guidance, career development, and performance oversight.
- Product Delivery: Drive the execution of multiple product deliverables, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.
- Process Optimisation: Define and track engineering metrics, lead operational reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Technical Direction: Provide architecture-level guidance aligned with our evolving cloud and platform strategies.
- Technology Advocacy: Act as a technical advocate, promoting engineering best practices and driving code quality, CI/CD, and test automation.
- Hands-On Development: Contribute directly to solution development using the Microsoft stack (.NET, C#, SQL Server).
- Design & Scale: Participate in designing cloud-resilient, highly available production systems.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Product Management to evaluate technical feasibility and provide accurate effort estimates.
- Innovation: Identify and recommend new frameworks or technologies that align with our goals.
What You’ll Bring:
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years leading engineering teams, with 9+ years of hands-on software engineering in a product development setting.
- Microsoft Tech Stack Expertise: Advanced knowledge of .NET, C#, ASP.NET MVC, and enterprise-level SQL Server.
- Agile Mindset: Proven track record of delivering in Agile environments with iterative development cycles.
- DevOps Familiarity: Practical experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control tools.
- Architectural Knowledge: Solid grasp of scalable software design principles and domain-driven architecture.
- API Development: Strong understanding of RESTful API design and deployment in production environments.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and analytical abilities, capable of translating complex technical ideas for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive Approach: A self-starter who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments and can juggle multiple priorities effectively.
