Systems Administrator
Location: Maidenhead
Hybrid: 3 days in the office
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll manage and support both internal and external hosted systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across hardware and software infrastructure. You’ll collaborate across technical teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and help shape best practices in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritise and manage support tickets, escalating when necessary.
- Maintain detailed procedure documentation and quick-reference guides.
- Stage, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
- Monitor and resolve issues across platforms such as Hyper-V, Servers, SAN/NAS, and Applications.
- Manage and execute change requests as part of formal change control.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent after-hours issues.
- Contribute to infrastructure design, including storage, data centre, and network environments.
- Support websites and applications, including performance monitoring and fault resolution.
- Implement and maintain security measures (e.g., firewalls, encryption, compliance).
- Drive continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing operations.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging technologies through training and certifications.
Qualifications & Skills
- 4+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator (or equivalent).
- Strong background in Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Hyper-V virtualisation (including clustering).
- Knowledge of SAN administration, Veeam backups, WSUS, and Certificate Management.
- Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell preferred).
- Networking skills, with good understanding of switch configuration and firewall rule sets.
- Familiarity with Barracuda platform, Cisco ASA firewalls, and PCI-DSS (desirable).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal, in English).
- Detail-oriented, organised, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
