The Role: Solarsense UK Ltd is looking for a motivated and experienced Solar O&M Electrician to join our growing Operations & Maintenance team. This role involves maintaining, fault-finding, servicing and repairing commercial and domestic solar PV systems, battery storage systems and associated electrical infrastructure across the operating regions and occasionally further afield.
Main Duties:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits on solar PV and battery storage systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on PV systems, inverters, optimisers, batteries and monitoring platforms.
- Perform electrical testing and inspection works.
- Complete reactive maintenance and emergency call-outs where required.
- Produce clear service reports and photographic records.
- Liaise professionally with customers, site managers and subcontractors.
- Support commissioning and remedial works when required.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with BS7671, MCS and company procedures.
Required:
- Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- 18th Edition qualification.
- Strong fault-finding abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Comfortable working at height and outdoors.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- ECS Gold Card.
- Strong customer service skills and confident in customer-facing situations.
- Proficient in the use of IT and CRM systems.
Desirable:
- City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification.
- BPEC or LCL Awards qualifications in Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charging installations.
- Experience at domestic residential, commercial, ground mount and utility-scale PV sites.
- Experience with battery storage systems and EV charging equipment.
- IPAF, PASMA or working at height qualifications.
- Knowledge of monitoring platforms and remote diagnostics.
