Solarpro is seeking a proactive and technically competent Project Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPC projects across the United Kingdom.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating daily site activities, ensuring construction works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and the project schedule.

The successful candidate will act as the technical interface between the Project Construction Manager, Engineering Department, subcontractors and quality teams while supporting the safe and efficient execution of all construction activities.

The position is site-based (future projects in Nottinghamshire, Essex and Aylesbury) and requires a hands-on engineer with strong coordination skills and a practical approach to solving construction challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily construction activities on site.
  • Ensure construction works are executed in accordance with IFC drawings, technical specifications and approved method statements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and monitor daily work progress.
  • Support the Project Construction Manager in planning and execution activities.
  • Review construction drawings and identify discrepancies before execution.
  • Prepare and monitor site inspection requests.
  • Coordinate technical queries (RFIs) with the Engineering Department.
  • Verify material deliveries and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor construction quality and support QA/QC inspections.
  • Ensure non-conformities are reported and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Assist in planning construction sequences and work fronts.
  • Coordinate interfaces between civil, mechanical, electrical and grid connection activities.
  • Monitor productivity and identify potential schedule delays.
  • Support commissioning activities and punch list closure.
  • Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and progress updates.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Promote safe working practices in cooperation with the HSE team.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within EPC construction projects.
  • Previous experience in utility-scale Solar PV projects.
  • Experience working on projects larger than 20 MW.
  • Good understanding of construction methodologies and EPC project execution.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Valid driving licence.

Willingness to travel and remain site-based across the United Kingdom (future projects in Nottinghamshire, Essex and Aylesbury)

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
  • Experience working on UK or European construction projects.
  • Knowledge of UK Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations.
  • Familiarity with National Grid, DNO and ICP requirements.
  • SMSTS, SSSTS or willingness to obtain the relevant certification prior to site mobilization.
  • CSCS Card or eligibility to obtain it prior to site mobilization.
  • First Aid at Work certification is an advantage.
  • Experience working under FIDIC contracts.
