The Role

This is a hybrid position combining on-site surveying and engineering work with home-based reporting and coordination. You will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar PV systems installed across schools nationwide. There is an expectation to work away on-site across the UK 2–3 days per week. All travel, accommodation, and fuel expenses are covered.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out site surveys, pre-installation visits, and system commissioning
  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and repair work
  • Conduct annual inspections and 3-year electrical testing
  • Submit detailed site reports within 24 hours
  • Work with monitoring teams to identify and resolve faults
  • Repair or replace inverters, meters, cables, and communication equipment
  • Maintain asset management records
  • Assist with design reviews, planning, and grid connections
  • Represent the company professionally on-site
  • Build relationships with school site managers, business managers, and trust representatives
  • Lead or contribute to on-site meetings
