At Emtec Utility Services, we’re helping drive the UK’s energy transition and we’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join us as we continue to grow and expand across the UK’s renewable and infrastructure sectors. Emtec Utility Services is a growing ICP delivering high-quality utility and engineering solutions nationwide. With a strong and expanding pipeline of work, we’re strengthening our teams to support projects from early planning through to delivery, underpinned by technical excellence, collaboration and doing things the right way.
The Role: As a Quantity Surveyor at Emtec Utility Services, you’ll work closely with our Commercial Manager and project delivery teams, becoming the commercial lead across multiple infrastructure and renewable projects. Your expertise will help ensure we deliver on time, on budget, and with maximum impact.
Responsibilities:
- Providing commercial and contractual advice across infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
- Maintaining accurate financial control systems, producing monthly cost/value reconciliations.
- Maximising valuations and ensure timely certification and payments.
- Preparing and manage cashflows, ensuring financial health of projects.
- Monitoring site progress and manage notices under contract procedures.
- Managing subcontractors, from drafting orders through to valuing works.
- Handling contractual matters including EOTs, delays, and programme monitoring.
What We’re Looking For:
- A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience working with standard forms of contract.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a sharp eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Confident with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Experience in construction, civils, infrastructure, or M&E is an advantage.
- Renewable energy or Utilities experience, or a strong interest in the sector, is a big plus.
