This role presents a unique opportunity to join a leading renewable energy developer and provider of expert services into the renewable energy industry.

Reporting into the Contracts Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction of renewable energy projects from conception to commissioning with the upmost focus on quality assurance and health and safety requirements.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated, pro-active, conscientious and be used to working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to tight deadlines.

The nature of this role requires flexibility for extensive travel from the office at Shepton Mallet to our various sites and locations, with a requirement to regularly stay away from home whilst projects are in build.

Duties:

• Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and industry best practices.

• Monitor the quality of construction work, conduct inspections, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.

• Effectively manage and coordinate all aspects of renewables construction projects, including procurement, logistics, subcontractor management, and project reporting.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and all stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications, budget, and timeline.

• Allocate and manage resources, including labour, equipment, and materials effectively to optimize project efficiency and minimise delays.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, architects, government authorities, and local communities, to ensure smooth project implementation and regulatory compliance.

• Regularly monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide timely updates to project stakeholders, including senior management and clients.

• Prepare accurate and detailed project documentation, including progress reports, project close-out reports, and financial summaries.

• Attend regular general site and specific works package/contractor meetings and to control works.

• Manage variations and change across all works packages with the Contracts Manager and Cost Management team.

• See all aspects of quality and safety through to completion of works.

• Experience of working in a similar role is essential.

• In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations and practices within the construction industry.

• Extensive knowledge of renewable energy systems, construction methodologies, and industry standards.

• Proficiency in project management software and tools.

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

• Experience on electrical projects would be advantageous.

• A British driving licence is essential.
