This role presents a unique opportunity to join a leading renewable energy developer and provider of expert services into the renewable energy industry.
Service technicians are responsible for the day to day on site activities for the sites that are assigned to them, working closely with their regional support team and other stakeholders to deliver the O&M services safely, and effectively in line with expectations to ensure operational solar PV and battery storage plants achieve their required performance, availability and safety objectives.
Duties:
Duties cover planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution, and reporting. This is a permanent role and will require availability for weekend on-call Rota duties.
β’ Planned preventative maintenance of electrical, auxiliary, communications, mechanical, structural, grounds and security systems.
β’ Reactive maintenance interventions, fault diagnosis and fault repair of electrical, auxiliary, communications, mechanical, structural, grounds and security systems.
β’ Inspections, information gathering and records keeping using safety culture templates and other resources.
β’ Completion, updating and completing of events log management system tickets, completing weekly timesheets and maintain site and vehicle stock inventory.
β’ Working in accordance with BSR site access and security control procedures and policies.
β’ Working in accordance with BSR Health & Safety Policy, BSR Risk Assessments, BSR Safe Systems of Work, BSR HV & LV Safety Rules and all required BSR HR policies.
β’ Adherence to and supporting the further development of the BSR Quality Management System
β’ Supervision and site inductions of sub-contractors, suppliers, graziers and visitors to sites
β’ Participation in self-lead, site based and classroom-based training. On occasion this could be overseas.
β’ Travel on occasion to other regional areas or sites as required for the fulfilment of O&M contract duties. Including overnight stays when applicable.
Experience and qualifications:
β’ Technical experience as a qualified electrician (BS7671: latest version) or electrical engineer
β’ Inspection and maintenance experience and qualifications (C&G 2391 or 2394/5) or equivalent. Or working towards.
β’ Solar PV installation and maintenance experience (including systems over 50kWp and G59/3, G99) and qualifications (C&G 2372 or C&G 2399)
β’ Experience and training with central PV inverters is highly desirable (i.e. SMA, Power Electronics, Gamesa, Ingeteam, Sungrow)
β’ Experience and training with HV switchgear and systems is highly desirable
β’ Health and Safety awareness (e.g. ECS and/or SSSTS) including valid first aid ticket
β’ Self-driven with experience of working remotely without close supervision
β’ Attention to detail and can-do attitude. Ability to time manage and priortise your work correctly and efficiently.
β’ Technical knowledge β can problem solve quickly and express solutions verbally and on paper
β’ Action focused β Can quickly find common ground and solve problems for the good of all and is seen as a team player and is co-operative. Ability to assist other areas and teams within BSR to resolve faults, issues and problems.
β’ Composure β does not become defensive or irritated when times are tough and is a settling influence in a crisis
β’ Enthusiasm for continuing development and learning
