Our client, succesful and growth generating player in the petfood industry (private label) operating worldwide, is looking for their General Manager in the UK. You are looking at a family business with over 20 years of experience and premium products made in state-of-the-art kitchens of which are highly flexible in production and logistics. (the role covers 3 sites in the dedicated territory UK) Scope of the role: Ensure the site manufacturing operations whilst meeting Group operational targets and monitoring the KPIs along with the profitability (cf the Group operational plans) Ensure the team is clear of what the company mission and vision for continued growth is, also to drive a ‘can do’ culture and always motivate the teams in supporting and enhancing them the Bets Practices Analyze the reliability and accuracy of information to measure performance and changes of departments, also use information to drive continuous improvement of departments, whilst ensuring that key operational processes and practices are developed and adhered to, I.E. developing the operational team and all stff members providing them the right career development contributing to the overall direction of the sites and all its activities implementing change management with a Lean approach and reverse implementing strategies Key words : Profitability, efficient organization, change and implementation to existing procedures, ongoing responsibility for the evaluation of factory efficiency and quality of products . Key Duties: Develop and implement long term strategy growth aligned with company strategy and goals, achieving financial targets, whilst developing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Ensure that all the sites are operating to maximum efficiency through the application of LEAN / Six Sigma values. Maximize production master scheduling to meet order demands through detailed and routine S&OP, sales forecasting, and advanced planning. Maximize order fulfilment & developing and implementing growth strategies to evaluate current business processes and systems. Creating and managing budgets – PL responsibility: Looking at ways to improve revenue and cost savings. Develop / support customer relationships by meeting businesses objectives and by understanding how operational performance impact internal and external customers. Efficiently and effectively manage personnel and resources. Responsible for direct reports’ performance against agreed KPIs facilitating employee recognition; Ensure and hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets. Effectively lead Production Managers, Planning Manager, Supply Chain and work in co-ordination with the Technical & Quality Managers to ensure Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards are maintained and adhered to; Directly manage all day-to-day functions including Operations, Technical and Engineering. Accurate, timely submission of reports to Managing Director/ Operation Directors including business updates; Create a culture for safety on site with emphasis on housekeeping and good maintenance practices and compliance at the highest level with H&S legislation; Shared responsibility for concession approval (with Technical Manager and Managing Director in HQ Belgium ) Shared responsibility for facilities management to include: the evaluation of proposed machinery, factory construction and optimization of site usage Liaise with the Operation Directors to ensure that weekly production targets are met on time and that there is sufficient raw material stock to process customer orders. Manager and control Capital Expenditure Maintain and improve the existing partnership schemes Keep up to date with environmental impacts, climate change levy and waste management issues, and address these through Group procedures.
