Imece Women's Centre is a women-only organisation supporting BAMER women, particularly Turkish, Kurdish and Turkish Cypriot women. This post aims to improve women's access to generic and specialist domestic violence support services across London Boroughs. The post holder is expected to provide one-to-one crisis intervention support to survivors of abuse and some time-limited case work. The post holder is also expected to organise and facilitate workshops and discussion sessions with English- and Turkish-speaking women.
Off Centre is seeking to recruit a counsellor/psychotherapist who has experience working with young people. They will be responsible for providing psychotherapeutic support to young people accessing services at Off Centre, including individual therapy and outreach psychoeducational group workshops. Working hours include clinical/team meetings on Wednesdays 10:00–13:00, Saturdays 10:00–14:00, and one evening until 20:00; remaining hours are negotiable. This post focuses on supporting women through advocacy and casework, offering advocacy support towards exiting prostitution and maintaining a sustainable exit, including a step-by-step exiting package and group work addressing practical issues and recovery from violence and abuse experienced through prostitution.
The project aims to provide support and advice to harder-to-reach members of the community, helping them navigate bureaucratic systems and build confidence to meet their needs and fulfil their potential. The drop-in project runs alongside the Urban Table soup kitchen on Sunday afternoons, providing a free meal and an opportunity to discuss issues such as housing, benefits and looking for work with volunteers.
Responsibilities
- The Drop-in Coordinator will work directly with a team of volunteers to provide support and advocacy to service users of the weekly Sunday drop-in and will manage the volunteer rotas and task list.
- The role includes further developing the project, mapping and collating a signpost list of services in North and East London, and liaising with organisations, institutions and services to follow up ongoing casework on behalf of service users.

Key ongoing duties include:
- Managing and delivering the service: ensure service users' needs are met during sessions and follow up on actions during the week.
- Safeguarding and confidentiality: adhere to policies and report issues promptly and accurately.
- Volunteer support: ensure volunteers deliver a quality service and cope with conflicts or crises.
- Volunteer rota management and record-keeping: maintain monthly rotas and keep accurate electronic and paper records.
- Volunteer recruitment and management as required.
Developing the Service
- Lead on developing the service to increase capacity.
- Promote partnership work with local services, agencies and organisations.
- Work with the Steering Committee to improve systems and create efficient processes.
- Review current record keeping and develop a new database with Steering Committee support and volunteer training.
- Contribute to funding bids as appropriate.
Ensuring Good Practice
- Work in accordance with the ethos and values of the hosting organisation.
- Participate in internal/external meetings and training events as required.
- Participate in regular non-managerial supervision and identify professional development needs.
Commitment & Requirements
- 7.5 hours per week (TBC), at least 3 Sundays per month (1:30–5:00pm at the Drop-in) with additional hours during weekdays at the Round Chapel Old School Rooms to be arranged with the Steering Group and office staff.
- Essential: experience delivering quality support services to socially excluded and vulnerable service users with multiple, complex needs in a similar setting; experience of managing volunteers; ability to build strong relationships with volunteers, service users and external stakeholders; knowledge of safeguarding requirements and procedures; knowledge of immigration law at least to OISC Level 2 and relevant to women experiencing domestic/sexual abuse; ability to work sensitively and non-judgmentally with vulnerable clients.
