Sokin is looking for a dynamic leader to join our expanding international engineering org, in a key, hands-on role focused on empowering our engineers to do their best work every day and maximise overall team success.
As the Director of Engineering Performance , you will work closely with the whole engineering team and senior managers to optimise performance using a combination of coaching, mentoring and directed learning and development.

Responsibilities
Empowerment, Training & Adoption
- Help cultivate a psychologically safe environment where engineers feel heard, supported, and empowered to perform their best work
- Act as a trusted advisor and coach to engineers, fostering personal and professional growth through 1:1s, goal setting and actionable feedback
- Own and improve the engineering performance review process, aligning it with individual development plans
- Use engineering metrics and feedback to continuously improve internal tools, processes, and team performance
- Collaborate with the People Team and Engineering Leadership to align with hiring practices and organizational strategy
- Curate, design, launch, and manage learning & development (L&D) programs that cover the full spectrum of experience from intern all the way through to principal engineers in collaboration with engineering chapter leads
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging tools to inform and evolve internal practices
- Partner with technical experts to create internal training materials, knowledge-sharing sessions, mentorship initiatives and progression pathways
- Identify skills gaps across the team and proactively recommend or develop targeted training initiatives
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, experimentation and frequent, actionable feedback.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- At least 10 years’ experience in technical performance improvement, solutions engineering, technical training, or related roles within technology-led businesses
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience designing and delivering engaging training, technical documentation and L&D content using modern tools and platforms
- Ability to work cross-functionally, influence stakeholders at all levels, and thrive in a globally distributed, fast-paced environment
- A proactive, analytical, and continuous-improvement mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering/IT, or equivalent professional experience.
