We are looking for a Director of Product - Network Expansion to own our market expansion strategy and execution. You will lead a team of 4 regional Product Managers responsible for building and scaling our banking integrations across new markets, the foundation of our product. This isn’t about rolling out a playbook from your last company. We need someone who brings deep domain knowledge but questions it constantly, adapts it to our context, and builds something better than what’s been done before.
About Sokin: Sokin is a next-generation B2B financial services provider, enabling businesses to make and receive global payments with greater speed, lower cost, and total transparency. Our mission is simple: we’re simplifying global business - so businesses thrive wherever they choose to grow.
We are rapidly expanding, with an established presence in EMEA, APAC, and North America, backed by a strong global infrastructure and industry-leading partners, we are redefining how businesses move money worldwide. Our clients span industries from sports and entertainment to logistics and travel, and our community is growing rapidly. As we continue to expand, we’re building a team of exceptional people who share our ambition to transform the future of global payments.
What You’ll Do:
- Strategic Prioritization: Own the framework for which markets we expand to, which payment rails we integrate, and why, aligned with the CEO, COO, and CPO. Build data-driven prioritization models that balance commercial opportunity, technical complexity, regulatory risk, and competitive positioning. Make ruthless trade-off decisions when the team wants to do everything at once.
- Execution Leadership: Lead 4 regional Product Managers (Americas, Europe, MENA, APAC) responsible for banking partner integrations and local payment method expansion. Set clear objectives, unblock execution, and hold the team accountable for speed and quality. Partner with the Banking Partnerships team on partner selection and assessment (you don’t own the relationship, but you define the requirements). Work with the Regulatory team to identify licensing needs and ensure they have clear direction on priorities.
- Domain Expertise & Coaching: Bring significant knowledge of banking integrations, payment rails, regulatory frameworks, and market nuances. Coach and mentor PMs on technical depth, prioritization, and stakeholder management. Build the team’s capability so they’re not dependent on you for every decision.
- Operational Excellence: Own the expansion roadmap and communicate progress clearly across the business. Identify where we’re moving too slow and fix the underlying blockers (process, people, or priorities). Build scalable ways of working as we grow from 2 to 4+ regional PMs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must-haves: 8+ years in fintech, payments, or banking, with deep hands-on experience in cross-border payments, banking integrations, or payment rails. Previous experience leading and coaching Product Managers. Track record of driving market expansion or network scaling at a fintech or payment company. Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations across multiple markets. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to build frameworks where none exist.
- Mindset we care about: Adaptable, not dogmatic. You’ve done this before, but you don’t assume your old playbook is the right one here. You ask ‘why?’ before applying solutions. Ruthlessly prioritizing. You can say no clearly and help others understand why. Outcome-focused. You care about speed to market and quality, not process for process’s sake. Collaborative but opinionated. You work well with Banking Partnerships and Regulatory teams, but you’re not afraid to push back when needed.
- Nice-to-haves: Experience at a Series B+ fintech scaling internationally. Understanding of stablecoin or crypto payment rails. Prior experience working in embedded finance or B2B payments.
Please note, candidates will need to have the right to work in the jurisdiction that they are looking to work in. Sokin is an equal opportunities employer and committed to maintaining an inclusive work environment. As a growing global startup with bases across multiple countries, we were established on and continue to promote an agile, flexible working culture. Please reach out to discuss any accommodations you may require during the recruitment process.
